Serve Up Your Future: Transit Innovate Hub Café Vendor Meeting!

Sangamon County is proud to officially announce a one-of-a-kind business opportunity located within the heart of downtown Springfield. As we cook up the opening of our brand-new Sangamon County-Springfield Transportation HUB in Fall 2027, we're actively seeking food & beverage operators to bring a lively café and a grab-and-go retail space to life inside this landmark facility.

Call To Vendors

We are inviting qualified vendors (individual or joint applicants) to submit proposals to offer service operation on for the first floor of the HUB for a 1,900 sq. ft. retail and café space. To dedicating support in entrepreneurship, creativity and small businesses, Sangamon County is delighted to provide rent as well as utility subsidies to the selected operator.

The café will be delivered entirely move-in ready, complete with essential equipment & a full commercial kitchen to help your business hit ground running and begin serving customers the moment the doors open.

Application Deadline: Friday, July 31, 2026 - 12:00 p.m. (Central)

Eligibility

  • Applicants are required to have previous experience in Food & Beverage operations
  • Sangamon County, including City of Springfield employees, elected officials, and members of their immediate households are not deemed eligible.

About The HUB

Opening in 2027, the HUB will honorably serve as a significant multimodal transportation city center for:

  • Sangamon Mass Transit District
  • Amtrak
  • Greyhound

But fortunately, transportation is only the starting point. The HUB will also a diverse range of community-centered features including:

  • County Square, an enormous public gathering space
  • A dramatic grand stair with generous seating
  • Exciting nightly shows on a custom immersive Sky Theater
  • A second‑floor museum exhibit honoring the 1908 Springfield Race Riot
  • A third‑floor feature celebrating the Sangamon-Springfield Sports Hall of Fame
